Welcome!

Welcome to Star-Fleet (abbreviated as STF)'s home on the web! STF is a Star Trek role-playing game that was born on Prodigy in 1991. It made its move to the internet in 1997. We welcome you to take a look at our site (you can even login and read the role-playing areas with the username guest and the password sisko). If you like what you see, join us! In STF, you create a character on a starship or starbase and play out the actions of that character, giving consideration to the character's history, race, specialty (engineering, medical, security, science, etc.), age, and whatever else you want to throw in.

The Fleets

STF currently consists of six separate fleets, each with their own unique character. Each fleet consists of six role playing areas. The fleets joined the WeBB in the following order: 3, 4, 5, 2, 6, 1, and finally, 7. Fleets 1 and 2 were originally Prodigy-based, migrating to the WeBB as Prodigy's "Classic" service began to shut down. Fleet 7 was the latest fleet to be added due to increases in membership. It has since been removed.

Fleet One - The "Foreward" Fleet

Fleet One was the sole remenant of STF's long and proud history on Prodigy until its move to the WeBB. Since then, it has expanded from Prodigy's two ships to the current number of five. Fleet One's ships are the Scottie Testing Centre, SS Bonaventure (an Enterprise-era ship), the USS Ark Angel, the USS Ogawa, the USS Valkyrie and the USS Victorious. Fleet One is led by Fleet Commander Captain Phillip Stonness and Assistant Fleet Commander Captain Ton Geurts.

Fleet Two - The "Great White" Fleet

The Great White Fleet, aka Fleet Two, has existed longer than any other department or fleet in STF, except for the Personnel Department. The ships of Fleet Two are Outpost 45, the USS Constellation, the USS Lexington, the USS Polaris, the USS Rogue and the USS Trinitron. The fleet is led by Fleet Commander Captain Katherine Dedul and Assistant Fleet Commander Captain Jason Lee.

Fleet Three - The "Coreward" Fleet

Fleet Three was the first fleet to exist solely on the WeBB. The ships of Fleet Three are Outpost 42, the USS Athena, the USS Atlantis, the USS Aztec, the USS Brandywine and the USS Dresden. The fleet is led by Fleet Commander Commodore Kenson Koh and Assistant Fleet Commander Captain Brandon Irvine.

Fleet Four - The "Forceful" Fleet

Fleet Four was once considered an absurd dream that became a reality with the onset of STF's first fleetwide mission, the Crag War. The humor of this fleet has been unique since its asexual birth in late 1997. The ships of Fleet Four are Crell (the Crag homeworld), Starbase 202, the USS Alliance, the USS Asimov, the USS Columbus, and the USS Montgomery. The fleet is led by Fleet Commander Captain John Robert Lucas and Assistant Fleet Commander Admiral Larry Garfield.

Fleet Five - The "Meridian" Fleet

After the formation of Fleet Four, it was believed that this would solve the expansion problem for a long period of time. This period of time ended up to only be a matter of months, with Fleet Five being created in March of 1998. The ships of Fleet Five are the USS Curie, the USS Draco, the USS Endeavor (STF's daily posting ship), the USS Entente (STF's Carrier ship), the USS Merlin, and the USS Seraph. The fleet is led by Fleet Commander Fleet Captain Andrew Robinson and Assistant Fleet Commander Captain Geoff Joosten.

Fleet Six - The "Frontierward" Fleet

Fleet Six was commissioned on August 8, 1998, almost exactly a year to the day after Fleet Three. The ships of Fleet Six are Oed V (a colony), the USS Europa, the USS Genesis, the USS Merrimack (a TOS movie-era ship), the USS Olympic, and the USS Vanguard. The fleet is led by Fleet Commander Fleet Captain Daniel Lerner and Assistant Fleet Commander Captain Russell Watt.

The Departments

The departments of STF serve as the administrative organs of the STF government. Each has a specific task delegated to it and is led by a Presidentally-appointed Director.

Personnel Department

The Personnel Department (PDept) is the oldest of the five Departments, dating nearly to the birth of the club. The mission of the department has remained the same since its inception: to catalogue the membership, recruit new members, and give those new members their first assignment. The department is led by Personnel Director Captain Jim Hosick and Assistant Personnel Director Fleet Captain Daniel Lerner.

Engineering Department

The Engineering Department (ED), reviews, discusses, proposes, and either rejects or approves extensions to the technological and starship design weath of STF. The Engineering Department is led by Engineering Director Fleet Captain Lee Bridgeford and Assistant Engineering Director Admiral Larry Garfield.

Gamemaster Department

The Gamemaster Department (GMD) is responsible for training of and for aiding Fleet Commanders in the selection and placement of Gamemasters onto STF's roleplaying areas. The Gamemaster Department is led by Gamemaster Director Captain Geoff Joosten and Assistant Gamemaster Director Captain Jody Romero.

Internet Department

The Internet Department (IDept or ID) is the youngest of the five Departments, having been founded in early 1997. The Internet Department is led by Internet Director Admiral Larry Garfield and Assistant Internet Director Captain David Wonderly.

Starfleet Academy

Starfleet Academy is a Department/Fleet hybrid, containing ships for new members to roleplay on. It is led by Academy Commandant Captain Brian Olinski and Vice Commandant Fleet Captain Jack Dipper.

The Executive Assistants

The Executive Assistants are governmental "at large" officers responsible for some stated activity as defined by Edict. An Executive Assistant may set internal policy relating to his responsibilities, but is not empowered to set policy for the club at large. An Executive Assistant is appointed by the President, but is not required to appoint an assistant unless explicitly stated by Edict and is not considered a member of the cabinet.

STF Library

The STF Library is tasked with the role of collecting and archiving important STF documents, including department charters and even a Frequently Asked Questions section. The STF Library is led by Librarian Admiral Larry Garfield and Assistant Librarian Fleet Captain Sarah Hemenway.

Election Coordinator

The Election Coordinator is only appointed during election season to manage the intracies of electing a new STF President. The Election Coordinator for the July 2006 election was Captain Anthony Martin.

Coder

The Coder is a sort of adjunct to the Internet Department, but able to operate independently of it. The Coder is charged with supporting and developing STF's software systems. The current Coder is Admiral Larry Garfield.
